Mongolsas Delhi Sultanate
Matchup tips
It's just Ghazi Raiders in the matchup. You have a better, more efficient cavalry unit, alongside mass spearmen.
The Keshik are stronger, but they are slower as well, so catching up to Ghazi raiders is not feasible for them.
In theory, Mongols are better in feudal age. They have access to the Keshik, which is better than the Ghazi Raider – it's stronger. But the mass is a problem. The free upgrades are a problem. And the healing from the scholars is an even bigger problem than all of the other factors.
The free scholar from the first mosque or dock can be used to heal against early Khan harass, nullifying the poke damage.
Against Mangudai, Delhi needs both Ghazi Raiders and archers to deal with them effectively.
Ghazi Raiders deal bonus damage against Keshiks because Keshiks are armored (heavy) units.
Ghazi Raiders get bonus against heavy units, but against Keshiks that heal, it's kind of a wash.
Use short walls and static defenses to stop Mangudai from circling your base.
After Mongols age up, Keshiks become very tanky against Ghazi and elephants.
Mongols can use constant small raids to keep Delhi pinned in their base, buying time to reach Imperial Age.
Mangudai have 1.56 tiles per second, Ghazi Raiders have 1.81. But Mangudai with Deer Stones will outmaneuver them with more movement speed.
Walling off trade with infantry is something only Delhi can do; use this unique ability to shut down Mongol trade routes.
Delhi can't get out of their base to collect relics when Mongols have Keshik camping them.
Against Mongols, Delhi should focus on archer spam and elephant production rather than a Ghazi pump.
