Japanese establish early pressure through Samurai with deflective armor and bonus melee damage, then scale into late game via Daimyo-upgraded farms and elite Bannermen leaders that amplify nearby infantry damage, maintaining momentum through flexible religious traditions and escalating farm production.

And 2TC doesn't do much against a bunch of mounted samurai in your face.

English recently received a buff where they get increased gathering rates around campfires. You can go out to the deer with a 2TC strat and drop a campfire to boost gathering, giving a competitive timing with white tower.

If you Longbow rush and bump into Mounted Samurai, you're kind of toast.

English Council Hall build can block Pro Scouts play, especially on maps with thin wood lines where longbows can easily reach.

Japanese versus English, Horseman into Yumi is a popular play because you have better mobility, so you cut reinforcements and then fight the premium units afterwards.
