AGE OF EMPIRES IV
CIVILISATION MATCHUPS
YOUR CIV
OPPONENT
ByzantineByzantine
Byzantines accelerate production through sprawling Aqueduct networks to fuel mid-game cavalry peaks via the Hippodrome's movement and regeneration bonuses, adapt their roster through mercenary recruitment, and establish late-game dominance with Greek Fire's lingering area damage that prevents enemy recovery.
Matchup advice4 TIPS

I worry that if you give your opponent too much time to get back into it, you could find yourself easily behind because Byzantine with the olive oil and the cisterns and the bonuses that provides can keep them in even difficult games.

With these mounted samurai, he doesn't mind losing them as long as he gets to get rid of all these long bows because these guys are not getting replaced.

Yumi are great against one thing and one thing only: the Limitanei. If you take out the Limitanei, you can use your Mounted Samurai.

Javelins will overkill Yumi a lot, so Yumi feel really bad against them.
