You don't really want to build Hospitaller Knights as Knights Templar against English because Longbows snipe the Hospitaller quite well due to their lower armor.

Against English Longbows, a second Town Center is not a free secure because Longbows outrange the TC.

With the English, typically we will most likely be seeing an Abbey of Kings coming in. It is a very strong strategy to have the king over on the opponent's side. A benefit with Knights Templar is that you're not reliant on lumber camps for gathering wood. Your villagers are just beaming the wood all the way across into your base. So you're not necessarily reliant on a specific spot of a tree line to chop there. You can always move around and try to dodge the king.
