Sergeants, that unit is such a bait. I think there's very few cases where it's actually really good and this is not one of them. The amount of archers that Golden Horde can pull out of the air...
When up against Golden Horde, you have to expect a bumrush or all-in, so putting a forward TC is dangerous but gives you agency to secure gold for when the Khan arrives.
Torguud and the men-at-arms are just better straight up than the heavy spearman, especially considering the buff from the Khan.
