Macedonians will love a long extended feudal fight because with the silver income, you are able to meet those upgrades that just make it so much harder to handle. And the Riddari also just shifts the ability of your army to outlast and outscale what Delhi can do.
The Foreign Engineering Company landmark gives Macedonians cannons that counter Delhi's War Elephants effectively.
Without Sultan's Elite Tower Elephants, regular War Elephants can melt to mass crossbows and cannons.
If Macedonian denies Delhi's gold, it can snowball into no scholar production.
War Elephants are effective against a large mass of Macedonian Retiarius.
Scholars healing elephants can significantly sustain them against crossbow and cannon fire.
Against Delhi's fast Imperial into elephants, Macedonians should match Imperial timing and avoid overextending into the elephants.
Delhi has access to the Ghazi Raider plus two damage up against heavy units. Naturally something like the Varangian Guard is a heavy unit, but they're not just any heavy unit. They're a Feudal Men-at-Arms that exchanges some of its ranged armor for additional melee armor instead, which might be exactly what they need against something like the Ghazi Raider.
Macedonian horsemen, especially with silver upgrades and the Hippodrome champion giving extra damage, beat Ghazi Raiders cost-for-cost. Ghazi Raiders are also slower than these horsemen, so Delhi has to be very careful where he goes with them.
Macedonian could mass nothing but horsemen against Ghazi Raiders and potentially win out, but scholar healing could come in clutch in a pitched fight and turn the tide.
With healing in feudal age, you need to take decisive trades, decisive engagements. You cannot leave units alive, else they're just going to get healed back up to full.
But when an eventual castle stage transition comes in, Macedonian Varangians actually beat out elephants as well.
Both civilizations can have stronger than normal horsemen. The difference is that one has healing, the other doesn't.
