The Macedonians have the War Camp, which gives back 20% of units lost. Usually not built immediately in Dark Age, but against Mongols there is a chance of losing villagers or spearmen to a tower rush, so getting it up early can be valuable.
Macedonian archers can do well against Keshiks if they activate their ability, ignoring two armor, giving a nice bonus to damage.
