There's some players just make three cows and then play more of an extended feudal to use that extra eco to stabilize against someone like Sengoku. Some players will just go full into cow boom to try to match the passive economy for Sengoku, but that can be very dangerous with the way these yatai work.
I'm not sure how well sofas trade into yari cavalry from the Sengoku Daimyo, but sofas would give you a pretty good tool for sniffing out those yatai and getting some pretty good early damage up against them.
And the Yatai, they're not taking too much damage from those Warrior Scouts. They're kind of just laughing it off.
Sengoku's Mounted Samurai do not have deflective armor initially, so they get hit straight on the brace from Donsos, making it much harder to trade efficiently compared to Japanese cavalry.
Sengoku requires the third Taka clan level to unlock deflective armor for Mounted Samurai.
