Going full on into Keshiks is not a recipe for success against French knights.
In a perfect world you'd want about four Knights out by the seven-minute mark; School of Cavalry produces Royal Knights in about 28 seconds, but Mongols with an Ovoo can double produce Keshik to get an even quicker military lead.
Keshik pound-for-pound can't match Royal Knights, so Mongols need Spearmen to handle the Knights.
The best way to use Keshik against French is to raid buildings rather than fight Knights head-on.
Feudal Keshik against Feudal Royal Knight is terrible, but Castle Age Keshik against Feudal Knight is somewhat comparable.
Mongols produce villagers every 20 seconds, French produce them every 17 seconds in Feudal, so it helps shore up a bit if you lose a couple villagers.
Royal Knights get +3 attack for 3 seconds after a charge, which can be devastating against Keshik.
