Going out raiding may pick off a few reinforcements, but that's very dangerous against Order of the Dragon because a stray spearman in the reinforcement line and suddenly your raider elephant is toast.
Against Order of the Dragon, what you really need is mass of units, not necessarily quality. Mass crossbows and spearman are probably the main go-to units.
